Largo Canyon School hosts small hunting camps at our remote Unit 2-C NorthWestern New Mexico location. Every year and every hunt is different, but as the only hunting lodge in our area, we offer the driest, warmest, best accomodations to be found.
In this photo taken in 2002, our first
group, elk hunters led by Guide Freddy Seed, is finishing lunch at the end of
the elk season. On the menu is a choice between Green Chili Chicken Soup and
Gringo Turkey Soup, tortillas, and mince pie. The good food and the school's
natural downhome feeling helped ease the disappointment of not bagging an elk.
This topography is not an easy hunt but the
game are out there. Here Chris Guikema has guided a successful hunt in Tapacito
canyon.
Eight excellent guides accompanied Jess
Rankin's December hunt of 2005. They brought in 6 bulls, several of which were
massive.
Groups must provide insurance and food.
