"State of the Art Training"

with Traditional Chinese Medicine

Health and well-being can be achieved when the Spirit, Body and Mind are centered and flowing with the rhythms of nature. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can assist in this process.

Please take a moment and read my article on
Chinese Pediatric Massage

Or my new article on Endometriosis as understood through TCM.

I am, as always, undergoing changes in my relationship with acupuncture. I do believe TCM is an incredibly effective from of medicine, I also know it is not currently well accepted in the "medical mind-set" of our society. Therefore I am working hard to develop public awareness of the effectiveness of this medical paradigm as I continue to develop my internal focus.

My clinical focus is shifting to a finer focus. Treating women experiencing difficulty in their monthly cycle and or their transition to menopause has become my primary clinical focus. I feel this is one (of many) area's that is not being served as effectively as possible by allopathic medicine, and it is one of the strongest areas of Traditional Chinese Medicine. TCM has a very comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment protocol for all phases of women's health.

I am developing relationships with a few doctors in Tucson. I believe it is critical work to begin to integrate both medicines into strong effective treatments for our patients. I have been encouraged by the reception of some of the doctors.

I am very excited about my newest location, Peaceful Spirit Therapeutic Massage Center. I respect the work they are doing, their integrity and intention of all of their therapists. Peaceful Spirit also has three "5 Element" acupuncturist's on staff. It is GREAT to be affiliated with a center that has acupuncturist's as well as massage therapist of this quality on staff.
If you want an excellent massage I reccomend you give Peaceful Spirit Therapeutic Massage Center a call. (520) 320-1953.

In time, I want to work with as many different patients as I can: pediatric's, women's health, chronic disease, personal injury rehabilitation, sports injuries, depression, and or 'seasonal adjustments' and preventive medicine.

I am in the process of developing a working relationship with two local hospices. If you know of any other Tucson hospice that might allow me to meet with their director please contact me either though voice mail or e-mail. Thanks.

I look forward to meeting and establishing healthy working relationships with all the health care providers in Tucson and surrounding areas.

A Brief Introduction and Explanation of
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology

Acupuncture and Chinese herbology have a 4000 year history. I feel that the best care for my patients can come from a sensible, responsible blending of Western medicine and technology with the traditional, more subtle applications of TCM. Each branch of medicine can be life saving and can have tremendous benefits for patients. Each medicine also has its limits; as a licensed acupuncturist I strive to help my patients find their own balance of healing modalities.

What is acupuncture?

The ancient medical system of acupuncture originated in China between 3000-4000 years ago. It is the art of inserting tiny needles into specific points on the body to treat illness, or injuries and to prevent disease.

How does acupuncture work?

While modern western medicine cannot explain how acupuncture works, in Chinese medical theory the human body is an energetic system composed of qi (vital life-force). Qi flows in discrete channels or "meridians" throughout the body. Where there is disease or illness, the flow of qi is disrupted. Acupuncture in conjunction with Chinese herbs, is used to regulate and promote the free flow of qi, thereby restoring and harmonizing the energetic balance of the body.

Is Acupuncture Safe?
YES!!!!

The practice of acupuncture in the U.S. is highly regulated and controlled. In order to pass the national certification test you have to pass a 5 hour written test on chinese medical theory, point location, differention and diagnosis of disease, and clean needle technique. Over 90% of all states that license acupuncturist use this national test as the base requirement for licensing. The Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree comes after completing well over 2600 semester hours of clasroom and clinical training. The level of training of acupuncturists in America is very comprehensive.

Additionally the needles used are 'single-use' presterilized, disposable needles.

The World Health Organization has recognized that acupuncture is effective in treating over 43 different diseases. A very brief list of these diseases would include: Asthma, Allergies, Anxiety, Depression, Arthritis, Back pain, Constipation, Colds, Headaches, Menopause, Post-partum, Stress, Sciatica, Fatigue, Diarrhea, Flu, Migraines, PMS, Insomnia, Tension, Joint problems, TMJ/Jaw pain, Neck/shoulder pain, High Blood Pressure, Gastrointestinal disorders, Gynecolgical disorders.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are especially effecivte in promoting a balanced life and in restoring feminine rhythms.
